Due to paucity of private or public university in the area, establishing this university ushered a new era in the educational arena. has taken a timely decision to fulfill the long cherished demand of the increasing numbers of the students of the area as well of the country. Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib University as named by the First lady of Bangladesh, Wife of Father of the nation Bangabondhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was born on 08 August 1930 in the village Tungipara of Gopalgonj District. She has played a vital role in providing inspiration, enthusiasm and courage in all activities of Bangabondhu during his life time. She has contributed in every step of the independence of Bangladesh. She sent her two brave sons in the liberation war for the independence of the motherland. She sacrificed her life along with Bangabondhu and other family members on the black day of the history of Bangladesh, 15 August 1975.

Mass community in struggles for betterments of life quality and educational development which are going to be real after implementing the initiative of establishing Sheikh Fazilatunnesa Mujib University of which the name has a historic and symbolic meaning carries a greater significance in Bangladesh . The commencement of this university was initiated in 2010 with all necessary measures and steps of a complete educational Institution under the private university Act and rules of the Ministry of Education.
I feel proud of being a part of this noble establishment as a university to serve the objectives of common and needy community who will have good results in such educational service. This creation in human service remains eternally as a light of knowledge to enlighten the minds of million learners in future. We have been further advanced on building a new campus with 30 acres land where modern facilities and architectures are engaged in building work.
